Three Stars and Shark Chisel
Here is yet another Swedish Chisel brand that tried to leverage off the Berg Shark brand. It appears to have been made for export and was seen in England.
The tanged blade is beveled and a bit shorter than the typical Swedish bench chisel. The handle is not the traditional Swedish style. It appears to be made from a hardwood other than the traditional birch or beech, possibly ash or hickory. The ferrule at the bottom of the handle is made of copper and is unmarked.
“MADE IN SWEDEN” is stamped on the left and perpendicular to the oval logo. The oval logo stamped on the back of the chisel blade reads “THREE STARS AND SHARK” at the top. Beneath that are three stars with a shark below them. The text at the bottom of the oval reads “TRADE MARK”.
The front of the blade has a circular mark or swirl on it, but I don’t believe that it has anything to do with brand identification or measurement information.
